Celebrating Dear's Birthday

Back in February, we celebrated Dear's birthday with his family and also on our own. With his family, Mother cooked up some nice dishes and fish steamboat (yu tou lu) at home and we then celebrated with a cake. Kendrick as usual was really excited and happy to sing along to the Happy Birthday song and help blow the candles and cut the cake :)

Dear and I also had our own celebration on a separate day where we went out to watch a movie and had dinner at Ippudo Ramen in the new Mandarin Hotel Gallery. In order to try out this renowned ramen, we queued around 20 - 30 mins! I would say that it's quite worth the wait, but it would definitely be much better without having to queue so long!!

Anyway, wishing my Dear Hubby a wonderful and Blessed year ahead!

New Flowers!

We bought a new pot of flowers recently from Far East Florist. It was more like a festive mood thing actually! Ha Ha...well, we can only hope that it will last a little longer this time as the past few years that we bought, the flowers did not last for too long. So far this Carnation breed seems to be blooming, so hope it can last till Chinese New Year is over bah?!

Cheryl's Wedding

We attended Dear's cousin's wedding dinner on the Sunday. The dinner was held at Capella Hotel, located in Sentosa. This was the first time that we went to this hotel. According to Dear, the hotel location was formerly one of those colonial houses. But now they refurbished it into a really sleek and nice hotel. The dinner turned out ok, but I must say the service was rather slow given that it's a Sunday night. By the time it was already 10 plus, we were only into the 5th course! As a result, quite a few of the relatives left early as they all had kids who need to go to school the next morning. That included our family. My PIL then drove us home and we reached home around 10.45pm.

Well, it was nice to see Cheryl happily married...congrats to them and here's wishing them a blessed marriage!

Although this picture of Kendrick looks funny, I still think he looks rather handsome in his outfit :P
Us at the dinner table. The baby chair is really cool..so comfy looking like a car seat!

My Dad's Birthday

We celebrated my Dad's birthday on the weekend by buying him a birthday cake as a surprise! He wanted to have lunch at my grandmother's place so we decided to buy him a cake for dessert. So after lunch, we sang the birthday song and Kendrick stood happily in front of the cake. He wanted to sing along too, but this shy boy started to smile awkwardly and bent down instead of singing loudly like his own birthday when we all started to sing! Ha Ha...

Wedding Anniversary

This post comes rather late but we celebrated our wedding anniversary around 3 weeks back. The earlier part of the day was spent bringing Kendrick out for some family activity as Dear was not able to take leave on Kendrick's actual birthday. In the afternoon, after dropping Kendrick at my in law's place, we headed home for a short rest before going down to Chinatown to look see. Ha Ha. Seems like a yearly ritual now. It was still a bit early to look for Chinese New Year stuff at Chinatown, but we still managed to get some decors to spruce up our home :)

After that, we had a simple Italian dinner at this restaurant in China Square. It was indeed nice to have some couple time and chit chat about stuff without Kendrick around to make us busy! Ha Ha! Well, cheers to many more years of our marriage!!

Happy New Year 2010!

We did something slightly different this New Year's Eve - we booked a room with a harbour view at Swissotel The Stamford so that we could catch the fireworks display from our room! So it was a 1 day 1 night 'stay-cation' for our family :)

On the day itself, we checked into our room some time in the afternoon, then brought Kendrick for some kite flying at the Singapore Flyer area. After that, we all took a nap before having a late dinner and settling back into the hotel room preparing for the countdown. My parents came down to join us for a while too. With the late afternoon nap, Kendrick was able to sustain all the way till 12.30am eventually! Yup, he managed to catch the fireworks and even remembered them the next morning when he woke up!

Well, Happy New Year 2010 and may it be a blessed and smooth year ahead....

We took this before the fireworks started as we knew Kendrick would be too distracted to take a shot when the fireworks started. So here's the view from our balcony

Christmas in Office 2009

Christmas came a little earlier this year in office. As we close from 24 Dec onwards, 23 Dec became the new Christmas eve. That day, everyone was in a party mood, giving and receiving gifts from each other. My department also went out for lunch at this Japanese restaurant at Turf City that serves ala carte buffet. We had our fill then headed back to office around 3pm. By that time, most of the other departments more or less declared an 'unofficial' off work timing. People started to clear out of the office slowly and by 5pm, most have left. We're all off for a long break and will be back to work on 4 Jan 2010!

Lunching at the Japanese restaurant - Anthea, myself and Amelia
Lee Lian & Wendy (The rest had not arrived yet and we forgot to take more photos after this as we were all busy eating!)
Just some of the starting food we ordered
Back in office, just a quick shot of some of my gifts

Christmas at Orchard Road 2009

We headed down to Orchard Road one of the weekday evenings before it was Christmas just to soak in the atmosphere a bit and take some photos of the decor this year. We had our little family dinner at a Hokkaido Ramen restaurant in Ion Orchard, then started our walk down. With Kendrick in toll, we didn't venture too far down actually. Ha Ha. As it was also rather crowded, we ended our photo taking around Mandarin Hotel area. This year, I would say that I only like the big Christmas tree outside ION Orchard.

These are the highlights of some of the photos we took....

The interesting lights inside the huge tree. The actual effect is actually very nice bright lights and when you look up, feels like you are looking at some galaxy or something!
Lots of reindeer line the streets of Orchard Road. This is just one of the shots we took

Michelle's Baby Girl First Month Celebration

We attended Michelle's Baby Girl's First Month celebration last Sunday. It was certainly a happy occasion to see my good old friend having her first daughter...welcome to Motherhood!! Since it's a girl, maybe next time Kendrick can hang out with little Evangeline too ya... :P

Catching up with Michelle & Serene
Catching up with Jeanette & June too!

Ivy and Mother's Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Ivy and Mother's birthday last week by having dinner together at home. Mother cooked some great food, including really fresh fish steamboat. After a nice meal together, it was cake cutting time and Kendrick was really looking forward :) He was able to sing Happy Birthday a lot better now so it was really cute to hear him sing along with us all.
